The aim with sustainable development is to define frameworks that reconcile the economic, social and environmental aspects of human activities.
The "three pillars" for sustainable development are to be factored in by both local authorities and businesses. To achieve this, various charters and protocols have set out guidelines for them to take action globally.
Many countries have signed up for these actions plans, which have a strong focus on energy, and more specifically renewable energies, a key factor for sustainable development.
Their aim? As their name indicates, renewable energies are inexhaustible. Over the long term, they must enable populations to have energy in sufficient quantities and based on competitive costs, without any risk of shortages or threats to people's health, while safeguarding the environment.
