Agrosolar® technology

An electricity producer, Agrosolar® develops and operates photovoltaic facilities on cropland or pastureland. Thanks to the solar tracker technology used, it is no longer necessary to choose between agriculture and photovoltaic electricity production: without any drawbacks, farmers can grow their crops or rear their animals on the land they lease to Agrosolar®. Indeed, its highly efficient photovoltaic modules are positioned 4.50 meters above ground level, on rows of masts 12 meters apart. The actual shade on the ground resulting from these modules, which turn in line with the sun’s daily and annual paths, covers only 16% of the fields.

 

Agrosolar® has been created through an international industrial partnership between Eco Delta and the Italian group Revolution Energy Maker (REM). It is jointly owned by both partners. The solar tracking technology, which it has exclusive rights to use, has been developed and patented by REM.

 

The development of Agrosolar® once again illustrates Eco Delta’s commitment to agricultural and solar sustainability, which has underpinned its company ethics from the outset. A pioneer in the photovoltaic sector for the preparation of agricultural land, the Group is also involved in the rehabilitation and transformation of military and industrial wasteland sites, in addition to safeguarding the ecosystem, thanks in particular to seeding with melliferous plants.

The first photovoltaic facility has been deployed in wheat and tomato fields in Virgilio, a rural district in Lombardy’s Mantua province. This 2.2 MWp facility highlights all the benefits of bringing the photovoltaic and agricultural worlds together.
